I forgot my gmail password and trying to recover it asks me for most recent remembered password. If I knew that..... Is there any way to contact them

According to the Gmail help if you have defined a phone number or backup e-mail you can have the password sent there via the account recovery page.

If you dont have that, what the help states is that you stop trying to login to the account for 24 hours and then try the recovery again and it will prompt you with your security questions.
