Switching back to Bord Gais again for Electricity - Can I?

I have gone from ESB to BG to Electric Ireland (EI). My current EI reduced rate ends this month and Bord Gais looks like the cheaper option again assuming I don't want the joys of Airtricity customer service and contracts.

So can I just change back to BG and be treated as a new customer again?

I was checking on bonkers.ie and it asked if I had electricity with BG before and as I answered yes they said I was not entitled to new customer rates?

Would like some clarification before approaching BG or starting the process. Anyone done this?

    Thanks !
