Trumpet Player Looking for a project

Hey all, I'm a relatively new trumpet player working up through grade exams, I will be going for grade seven next. I've no experience performing or recording with the trumpet but have some experience of gigging and recording as a guitarist.

I'm looking for something to oil the cogs a bit, any kind of project or style of music. I've a good ear so I'm adaptable enough but still a little bit limited as I'm at intermediate level but improving fast. Music reading is at a reasonably good level.

All kinds of projects considered(nothing high-pressured though), I've my own transport and I'm in the midlands. Feel free to PM.

Hey. I'm a guitarist/bassist based in Portlaoise. I'm looking to start a ska/punk/reggae band. Influences are streetlight manifesto, the aggrolites, nofx, upstanding youth, chewing on tinfoil, sublime.

    Pm if you're interested.

Hey cheers for the reply, I like the influences you listed. I can't pm due to post count. I see you're putting a band together from scratch and I'm a fair bit up the road from portlaoise- in athlone. I'd be happy enough to make the treck down that far once everything's up and running so chalk my name down somewhere, I'll start looking at trumpet parts from the bands you posted.

No problem man. Thanks for the swift reply. I have a bassist and another guitarist interested. Just need a drummer really and maybe a singer. I'll pm you my number.

I'd love to write some originals too. For covers here's a few suggestions

    Upstanding youth-451

There's lots of nofx songs with trumpet and sax parts. Though about 75% of them don't.

    Nofx-bob (has a trumpet solo)

    Nofx-life o Riley

The aggrolites- feeling alright (you could figure out trumpet parts)

    Streetlight manifesto-somewhere in the between.

    Chewing on tinfoil-uprooted and booted

Any songs you can think of? Even if they don't have trumpet parts you could add them.

    Cheers
