Thanking recruiter - what's appropriate?

Do you know if it's customary for a successful candidate to give some sort of token of appreciation to a recruiter? I know they get paid by the employer, but would it be normal to buy a small gift or something to thank them for all their hard work on your behalf?

Not sure what's appropriate. The salary is quite high and was fought hard for, so I feel some sort of gratification should be shown.

the commission they earned should be thanks enough!
