Starting a thread for the next 11 days to see how the big meeting goes.

I've been 8 times, but missing it this year, but won't be missing a race, favourite meeting of the year, great when all horses are trying.

I'm going to try and keep to a budget of 500euro. I'll post up a few bets between now and the first day, try for 100 worth, and then budget on 100 a day.
Sole objective is to make a profit. Last year a good year turned into a great year because of a 'silly' bet on Zemsky on the last day who duly obliged.

No great logic for the picks, thoughts of friends whose opinion i value, some reading, some personal favourites i've been tracking over the last months. But no big write ups, I'll record the bets and hope to break even over the week....

I'll try get 80 worth of bets logged each morning, and leave 20 for random bets during day as they come to me. Could be 60/40, we'll wait and see each morning......

The best thing about Cheltenham Hazeman is that their are no real 'tips' as everyone is trying, so it's opinions as opposed to tips

Anyway, The Giant Bolster is out, and looks like Invictus the same, but we're NRNB, so nothing lost yet....

Hi Naughto, I've no probem with people posting anywhere, but probably get more views in the fancies thread, or in the Cheltenham Day 1 thread in horse racing.

Anyway, had pleasure of watching the morning line with my 4 year old this morning, asked him to pick a horse, and without looking up he says 'the 8 horse..................and the 15 in the 5th race'..............where he got the words from I don't know, and if he wins I'll give up but just for the little guy;

i seen ghosttown post just before the race started and had a 10fee bet in my account so i said id stick it on just about to press bet now and the screen froze on the laptop.i was think my be it was a sign and i will have saved my free bet.

u can amagine my horror when he won it i nearly fu1cked the laptop out the door

Running total - 221 bet. (45 still in play). 289.50 returned. So up slightly over 100 on day one.

Could have been so much better if Hurricane Fly had come in, but I saw guys having a much worse day than me yesterday as a result of that. Personally I didn't think Ruby gave enough respect to the two in front, so has to go down as a bad ride.

But I did enjoy the older lady in the pub cheering on Rock on Ruby while everyone looked on in disbelief - her excuse ? "My son told me to back Ruby in the big race"
