Hi, looking for advice on a good training programme to follow for a second marathon. Did DCM last year following the HH Novice programme which did exactly what it said it would and got me around comfortably but slowly in 4.59. Would like to improve on that this year. Have been ticking over since. Did the Meath half last Sunday as a training run as I had not been consistent enough to expect anything else. Planning on doing the Kildare half in May and then DCM. Any suggestions for a good programme ?

    Thanks. C

Pfitzinger and Douglas 55-mile plan. It starts off with weekly mileage of 35 miles and builds up to 55 miles. Don't let the mileage scare you off, there are plenty of slow-paced runs which make the plan very manageable. I started the plan 4 weeks after DCM (4:42) last year and my times have shot up since.

HH Intermediate? If you coped ok with the first one why not just move it up a level?

Thanks. Had a look at the intermediate today - 1 & 2. Both are a step up from what I was at last year. I'm going to slot into wk 3 of the intermediate half plan for Kildare and see where I'm at then. Thanks for the reply. C
