Hi I am having a problem with my Mira Elite ST shower. It will work fine for a few minutes but then flow of water will just completly stop and you can hear the motor still running. If you turn the shower off for long enough it will run again but a few minutes later the water will stop flowing again.

Anyone any ideas what the problem is?

It might be lime scale build up in your shower and/or the head.

Soak the shower head in lemon juice and water or clear vinegar.

I've heard of people breaking up calgon tablets at the inlet pipe and letting it run through the shower system.

What was the reason you'd been givin that mean't you needed a new shower?

did you not say you could hear the motor running?

I'd say it might have been the brushes bit cheaper than replacing the shower but maybe it was somethin else. Did you hang on to the old shower it might be handy for parts in the future.

Ah well it would've been an idea to take the brushes out of the motor if they weren't already gone. The bushes wearing out on the motor is a common fault.

Not to worry you should've posted in electrical forum might have saved yourself a few quid.

Brushes are not available as a spare part, a replacement motir is 88euro + vat from Modern Plant 01 4591344, but check your iblet filter first, it could be blocked.

Genuine spare parts it's a pair of carbon brushes (is miras carbon anymore authentic than actual carbon:confused:) for 25 quid I'd rather pay that than 100 odd for a new motor.

you never have to search to hard for someone trying to rip you off that's for sure.

Hmm perhaps you were getting yourself so worked up about being wrong there that you missed him saying he's after getting a new shower. Easy now old timer I now this new fangled inter web is a tricky one to use. I mean god forbid the world is getting a lil smaller and you might be wrong.
