    Hi All,

I am looking for a printer for a small business. Only thing is we are looking for one that has the cheapest new/refillable cartridges. Would be looking more at the hp/brother any of the big names really.

Any and all advice gratefully accepted :)

    Thanks in advance.

Kodak are said to have the cheapest original replacement ink cartridges.

Cheapest one I've seen was €79 in harvey normal's and €81 in argos, not sure what the model number was.

    this one http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/9371383/Trail/searchtext%3EPRINTERS.htm

but you might need a better quality for business use.

Hey Nick, we currently have a HP 6310 inkjet printer. Ideally would like something cheap but reliable. (and have cheap refills available lol)

Look at Brother/Canon machines. You can get cheap compatibles for these machines easy enough. HP/Lexmark and SF's favourite Dell ;) are very expensive for refills generally.
Take a look at www.inkjet.ie, www.justmedia.ie for cheap ink. Have used both and reccomend both

Personally I wouldn't look much past a HP 8500a Printer/Scanner/Fax here, the ink (940XL) is about €30 for 2200 pages or 1.3c per page... no messing with compatible/refills, good genuine ink that won't f up your printer.

If you do a lot of color printing, CISS or continuous ink is the way to go. http://www.inksystem.ie/

Agreed. Recently replaced an Epson with a HP, as the cheap ink used on the Epson caused it a slow death.

Do you print any colour, or is it all black and white?

We do a lot of printing and use to get are ink cheap from Hong Kong. It never damaged any of are printers. The only problem we had from the cheap ink was we couldn't get accurate reds. Other then that, it was fine.

I replaced a set of 5 Canon MP550 cartridges for €15 from inket.ie, rather than the €45 for all genuine, which is't actually too bad in itself.

Honestly, the quality isn't quite the same, but it's very close. I haven't noticed a drop in pages/cartridge but even if there was, it would be nowhere near the savings. Printing a thesis say, or photo's that I intended keeping, I'd probably use the Canon ones, but for everyday use there's no point.

I don't really think it will f-up my printer(which only cost €80 anyway with a set of cartridges), but I know I can always replace the printer head if needs be.

€30 saving on every refill pays for a new printer very quickly.

Those Epson Durabrite inks have serious clogging problems. You'll have the same issues with original cartridges as well apparently. I've noticed this problem quite a bit, funnily enough time is the best cure to it, i.e leave the printer off a few days then run a print head clean. But its not really relyable having to rely on that :P .
I have had an Epson r360 that uses Claria inks and the replacements have never failed, the printer is around 5 years old now and used compatibles since the trial inks finished. Brother and Canon replacement inks work better nowadays I believe though

How about a New printer and unlimited ink for €12.99 per month:
    http://www.cartridgegreen.ie/home-users/club-cartridge-green/how-does-it-work

I get my HP 310 cartridges refilled in Cartridge Green for €10 which fills them up more than the originals at €19 each so a no brainer for me really..
