Cyling trip from Leon to Nice

I have flights booked to lyon in July and I was planning to cycle either to Geneva or Nice as a nice little few days holiday. I was just wondering has anyone done a similar trip starting in Leon to Nice or any other nearby French city. I have flights booked to lyon in July and I was planning to cycle either to Geneva or Nice as a nice little few days holiday. I was jsut wondering also if anyone has completed a similar trip can you hire out a touring bike say in Lyon and then have drop it back to a bike rental compnay say in Nice and fly out of that city back to Dublin. I don't want to risk bringing my own bike due to it be ing potentially damaged in trasit. Any advice appreciated

I very much doubt you'd be able to get a one way bike rental in Lyon or Nice
