There was a small book called: 'High Ground Wrecks in the UK and Ireland'. As it happens I have an old copy somewhere. But 'somewhere' is the word. I'll see if I can dig it out. It might have the coordinates. No guarantee though.

There was a book written about the crash though. Don't know the name.

The picture of the JU52 on that website, should be enough to pinpoint the site. Print it out and and do a comparision on the hill.

From another website it apparently was a 1/4 mile from the summit on the South Eastern side. That should narrow it down nicely.

Going by the other info posted, the crash site would be in this area. Somewhere along the trail that goes from the bottom of the screen and meets the other trail at the top.

I dont know of any signage up there to point out the exact spot though. Maybe send a mail off the Dublin/wicklow mountain rescue. or facebook them :D

Was this that guy that was trying to use the summerhill mast for an instrument approach? Only to find that it was being serviced and a mast in the mountains was broadcasting on the frequency?

Or was it the guy who cancelled his plan before he was on the ground?

    Or neither?

    Hi Maudi

"When Our Plane Hit the Mountain"

The book is excellent, will give you a great insight to the passengers and what a hard time they had getting off the Mountain.
