Civ 5 steam wont launch/install

    So i went to play Civ 5 tonight but according to steam the game wasnt installed yet i only played it a few weeks ago.
    So i try to redownload it and now its saying and error occurred while installing civ 5 [mising configuration]

    Google isnt giving me much joy, any ideas folks?

    When you tried to redownload it, it failed... does that mean it's not appearing in your library of installed games? Or is it failing when you go to launch?

    Its greyed out in my list of installed games, i played it last week though lol.
    So i thought id just reinstall it but when i do so i get the missing configuration error.
    I see on civ fanatics and steam forums lots of people are having the issue , seems to be just in the last day or so.

    The few times I've had issues with it a validation of the game cache has sorted the issue for me.

    Tried that no joy,however i tried to run the game again 30 mins ago and all is well.
    People on forums reporting the same, had to be a steam issue.
