Might seem like a small thing, but if you make a mistake it's better to correct yourself straight away then just moving on and trying to act like it didn't hapoen

Listen to French radio online - watch French TV, films, etc..
Get used to the sounds and flow of the language.

    Le journal en Francais facile:

Deutsche Welle - Learning by Ear:

    France24 - Newschannel:

You can find dozens of French TV channels available online. ;)

Also, find some native French speaker and meet once or twice per week to practise speaking as much as possible and speak to yourself in French everyday.

I think listening to French (tv or online or whatever) is really helpful for pronunciation and stuff. Loads of schools have videos up, was using this this morning, talking to myself like a crazy person! :P

Don't forget to act like a person, not a robot, when you go in! Smile and make eye contact. It's meant to resemble a conversation in some way, not an interrogation. You'll seem much more at ease and confident if you're not staring at your feet.

Make sure you know the 'essential' verbs like the back of your hand.

    Etre
    Avoir
    Vouloir
    Pouvoir
    Aller
    Devoir

Know your document if you have one. Show it to your friends and family too. You might think you have all the questions that could be asked covered, but you'd be surprised.

Keep it simple! Learn off a few more complicated phrases to impress, but besides that stick to your basic, perfectly structured French. Good luck!
