Hi guys,i switched to 48months.ie..i have to change the apn settings to use their internet.however when i change the mnc number it wont let me save, and it goes to a blank apn page, and i have to do a restore to apn step.i emailed samsung and they said it sounds like my fone is the prob, and i need to do a software reboot.i just emailed them now to know if a factory reset wud do the same job?
Anyone any ideas,if there any easier way?if anyone wants to see the settings i need, they are on the website i talked about it above..
I emailed 48 and they said basically other users have used these settings and it works,to try again and best of luck etc..
    Cheers guys..

When you're creating an apn the mcc and mnc should be populated by default, you shouldn't have to fill them in because the phone can read these from the sim card

If it's not populated on your phone that says to me that it can't read them from the sim so you should get a replacement sim. That would also explain why the APNs screen is blank. That screen only shows APNs that are valid for your current network based on the mobile network code (mnc) and if it can't read your mnc from the sim it doesn't know which ones to show.

Or it could just be that the mnc is already populated with 02 as it should be and you're changing it to something else incorrectly. That's zero 2 btw, not o2

I just tested with a Vodafone 858 Smart and adding the APN causes the same problem, as soon as I change the MNC from default 11 to 02 and save the APN is not listed any more from the APN list and need to create again. So not a problem with the phone, have you tried saving with the default value of 11, maybe the have the information in the user guides wrong.

Are you using a 48months sim card? I was looking at the instructions here: http://help.48months.ie/entries/20876496-settings-for-htc-desire

And it says to give the mnc as 02 which is O2's mnc but Paul from Tesco says their mnc is 11: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=77061456&postcount=218

And since 48 months is another O2 MNVO it would make sense that it would use 11 too

OP are you seeing a default of 11? If so leave it there as nava says

Hi Sam yes I'm using a 48 Sim and the default is 11, they must have the wrong info on their help pages.

Recent porter to 48months and my Galaxy S APN not saving was annoying me also for a while.
To receive and send MMS I needed to create 2 new apns, one named 48internet, one named 48mms.
For the 48internet APN use the Gprs Wap & Mms handset settings on the 48 months site help area, do not change the mnc (11) or the new APN will not save, for the Apn type select internet.name that APN 48internet and save.
Then create a new Apn called 48mms.
    use http://mmc1/servlets/mms in server and mmsc.Use 10.1.11.19 for mms proxy,mms port 8080,mcc 272,mnc 11,authentication type:none, apn type:mms.
Save and highlight 48internet on the main apn menu(you should have 48internet and 48mms there now).
You have to hit download when you receive the mms but at least it works now.
Great deal I think but net can be a bit hit and miss at times though.

    I'm having the same problem.

    I have a Jiayu G2S. android 4.1.2

Tried making two new APNs like above but no joy.

    48's website help is here
    http://help.48months.ie/entries/20880322-Internet-Settings#DataRoam

The generic settings do not work. Says sometimes this might happen and on some phones you'll need to have data roaming turned on, so you're basically roaming on O2 all the time.

This has been allowing me to send txts via roaming.

Cannot use internet though. Driving me bonkers!
