    Hi,
Just a quick question, i lost my job in early December....pride, upset..and a touch of depression prevented me from going to th Social Welfare to sign on....
Now my savings have ran out and my boyfriends savings at that too...although he is working 5 days, 5 hrs a day i don't think he is entitiled to anything...

Anyways my question being...will they find it suspicious that i didn't just go in straight away...i hoped to find employment within a few weeks, and i suppose there is so much talk of the state of the country i figured i'd managed for as long as i could...

Got the forms to fill in today from my local office and there is a question...if a delayed claim reason for delay...

Do i say i was too proud....felt the country was in enough trouble already without me adding to the problem and that i had hoped to gain employment almost immediately

Could it be that by my NOT burdening the country i could now get into trouble myself... have never been in receipt of any welfare payments ever..very new to this stuff...

    Any advice help greatly appreciated.

Yeah, just be honest and tell them what you've written in your OP. Doubt they'll make a big deal out of it.
