Can anyone suggest a good and affordable set of tights. Also if would have to be an Irish website or an Iirsh shop to get them from because I got rid of the oul credit card:D

Borrow someone elses credit card and get DHB ones from Wiggle.

DHB tights are good value alright. Best advice I can give you is this: you get what you pay for with cycling clothing.

    FYP:D

I've had a few pairs of DHB and barely managed to get 6 months from them.

Santini, I've found are better - very comfy, but for day in / day out commuting they're not up to it.

Endura, for me, give great value for money - warm, comfy (not as comfy as the Santinis) and hard wearing.

dhb ones are good, I use them on my daily commute but I think the pad isn't great for longer rides. I tend to wear a pair of shorts under them for longer rides!

Have a pair of DHB Merston and have found myself choosing them over my Santini Storm tights with the GIT pad.

Can't get comfy with the Endura pad. Even with a cutout saddle the centre seems over padded.

    Bit of a contradiction:confused:

for 50 quid you get reasonable comfort and OK quality, for 90+ quid you get real comfort and real quality.

    Slightly off topic but...
Try an O2 money card. You can use it where you would normally use a credit card without having a bank account or anything else. It's basically a debit card. You top it up just like a call card. It costs 99c every time you top it up which seems like a lot but if you're not saving more than that then you probably should buy in a local shop anyway. You will need a valid Irish address (or someone who'll let you use theirs) but after that there's no worries.
That should open up the number of places you can go searching for tights :)

I noticed today that Lifestyle sports ahs a sale on for running tights. Would a good quality pair of these be comparable to cycling specific tights? If I wore a pair of shorts under them to help with the comfort?

My DHB tights are still in good nick but the pad is past it. Im starting to wear an extra pair of shorts for the extra pad but its annoying.

What do people recommend for the best pad around ?? I originally begrudged paying 100 euro but now after seeing how far the DHB ones went Im thinking twice.

Leg or knee warmers might be a more versatile purchase at this stage of the year. Santini are very comfy.

I often wear a pair of jogging tights over padded cycling shorts. No different to wearing non-padded cycling specific tights over padded shorts. Works just fine I find.
