Just heard that he is due to fight over in the U.S again.
Very dissapointed to see who his opponent is...
Hes fighting some bum called Darnell Wilson (24-14-3) never heard of him so checked his stats and he has lost 8 of his last 10 fights.

What the hell is going on with his management team??
Its absolutley ridiculous, with his talent he should be up against some decent opposition.
Looks like his career is heading for the gutter if he doesent change his management team and/or relocate to the U.S.

    What are your thoughts...?

"NEXT FIGHT : March 24 (Saturday), 2012 At The Resorts Casino, Atlantic City, NJ Mariusz Wach (26-0) vs. Tye Fields (49-4)
MIKE PEREZ (18-0) vs. Darnell Wilson (24-14-3)
Artur Szpilka (9-0) vs. Terrance Marbra (6-1)"

Its not that bad an opponent, better than what Deontay Wilder is fighting at least. At least it is keeping him active.
It is a bit sad that its on the undercard of a Tye Fields bout however.

Wilson is past it but an experienced campaigner who's been around the block. Boytsov dispatched him in 4, it will be interesting to see how Perez fares; I suspect he mightn't finish him so quickly, Boytsov has a lot of power, and The Ding-a-Ling Man is a hard man to hurt.

Perez should win easily but this fight isn't as bad as it looks. Perez will learn from it.

He would be Perez's best win at this point/

He's a much better opponent than many will realise alright.
He had a decent career for himself at Cruiser, getting wins over Daniel Judah, Kelvin Davis and Emmanuel Nwodo, capturing the USBA title before getting a shot at an IBF eliminator. If you're not familiar with those guys they are all of solid calibre at the weight and either were or had been top 10 guys at the weight within a few years of fighting Wilson.

He then lost the eliminator to BJ Flores, going in a big underdog but most felt he had won. He got a title shot at Cruiserweight anyway vs Firat Arslan and gave a good showing although he was clearly beaten on points.

Since then things have admittedly gone downhill for Wilson, although one fight still illuminates from his record. 6 months ago he fought former top Heavyweight contender (and long time top man at Cruiserweight) Juan Carlos Gomez. Gomez gave a better showing than most when he fought Vitali Klitschko back in 2009. Anyway, Wilson outpointed Gomez. Now 2 losses have followed for Wilson since but considering he's typically quite a durable fighter and that Gomez was Cuba's top man at Heavyweight (even above Solis) there is a little more interest in this fight.

I would not be surprised if Wilson goes the distance, especially as it's only 6 rounds. The point is I'm okay with this fight as it's only 3 months since his last fight, it's on a card with several Heavyweight prospects so will draw some interest. So long as he's out again in the next 3 months that is, otherwise I'd like something a bit better.

Not Perez fault. His management is a joke. It is about the fifth time this has happened in a year. He must be pissed off more than anyone training, peaking for every fight and then be cancelled nearly every time.
