Meeting with recruitment agency, advice needed!

I'm wondering what is the dress code for a first time meeting with a recruitment agency? And also what kind of questions are they likely to ask?
    Thanks in advance!

If it's not a meeting for a specific job then I would imagine it's an assessment type thing.

My advice on clothes would be to go for something between full suit and casual. So if you're a man maybe a black suit, with a plain white shirt and no tie and then you can take off the jacket if you feel you're over dressed. Same advice applies to girls really, although maybe just work trousers a white shirt and a cardigan.

They're likely to run through your CV and experience and just ask you basic questions about your experience. Depending on what type of work you're looking for there might be an assessment/test like a typing speed test etc.

Given the way things are at the moment, I would treat an agency meeting as akin to a job interview. It's important to remember that recruiters have thousands of people on their books, if they're going to get you a job they need to know that you are going to be a good/successful applicant for future roles so I would take it seriously.

In saying that though, don't panic, it's unlikely to be as tough as a job interview, but it is unlikely you'll ever get free face time with a recruiter again so you need to put your best foot forward.

    Good luck!

Personally I'd always wear a suit for an agency interview. They want to see how you'll present yourself for real job interviews and they can't see that if you treat the agency interview more casually.

If you don't have a suit I'd advise trousers and a shirt/blouse as mentioned above.

Definitely a suit or very smart casual at a minimum. I've had candidates show up at my offices in jeans before, needless to say there wasn't a hope of them being sent to any of my clients for fear they would do the same there (and if they have to be told that then there is likely other deficits in their knowledge)

Some exceptions can be made for certain industries, creatives for example is typically a jeans and t-shirt industry. Nonetheless jeans and t-shirt doesn't wash in a formal interview so all effort should be made to scrub up.
