one night stand worries

    Hi all,
    I was at a party saturday night and drank way too much (I haven't been drinking in ages) Long story short i ended up having unprotected sex with a lad i went to school with. I also had oral sex with him and when i woke up this morning i had a sore throat and a white coating towards the back of my tongue. im really worried that ive contracted some kind of std, im sick with worry and i cant think of anything else. Apart from that, i have the worry of being pregnant as i'm not on the pill. My throat is never really sore and im really concerned. also i feel like i have a fever.
    Has anyone ever had this happen to them? id really appreciate any advice as ive no-one to talk to, i didnt tell my friends what happened because they would just lecture me for being so foolish.

    Those symptons you have are in your head, I don't think STIs are quite so fast acting.

    Firstly, go to a chemist and get the MAP (they sell that over the counter here now don't they?)

    Secondly, book yourself in to get checked for STIs, there's a sticky over in the PI forum concerning where to go etc.

    Most importantly, don't worry!

    Morning after pill immediately. You should have taken it yesterday, tbh, but there's still time.

    Then off to the doc with you to get checked out for everything else.

    I won't lecture you, I've been there myself, but please at least learn from this!

    I would hazzard a guess that drink is responsible for the fever, and the sore throat may be just because of the friction involved in oral sex.

    Wouldn't worry too much about it, but do get checked out. And get morning after pill asap so you can move on from this and not beat yourself up about it anymore than you already have.

    It sounds like (oral) thrush, which can appear overnight. Get the morning after pill...

    Folks - lets leave the diagnosing to the professionals.

    OP - you need to go to your doctor and get checked out for any STI's and as you are not on any contraceptive, you need to get the MAP asap as well (it can be sold OTC by pharmacies and I think it's around a tenner).
