Query about Wage Deductions

Could someone advise me on where I can find out information online (I have looked but can't find what I need)

    - I have not received a payslip in months (I have reported this to the job so I'm ok with this query)

    - My last wages were far lower than normal only to be told by the job when I queried it that mistakes were made in my wages since the 1st week of January and as a result I owe money.

My query is - should the job not have consulted with me on what the deductions will be each time I get paid. They have decided the amount they will deduct from my wages which I feel is too high and want to negotiate this.

Where about online would you recommend I could check more about this.
