Can I claim?

I was cycling home from town. I was passing through Fairview in the bicycle lane.

There was a parked car ahead of me that was slightly in the lane. The lights were on so i slowed up in case the driver was pulling out. No sign of that, so I checked behind me for cars (there were none) and cycled out onto the road to go around.

Suddenly the indicator turns on. I was just behind the car and I thought the driver was pulling out so I moved further out on the road to let him out.

He did a U-turn ( which isn't allowed on a road like that) and knocked me down. My bike went under the car and I flipped over and landed on my back. I looked up to see he was still moving I ran over and stopped him. I he moved to the opposite side of the road and I dragged myself and bike over aswell. He apologised and we exchanged information. Some passers by asked was I ok and obviously called the guards because within minutes they arrived.

I was fine at the time and just got a lift home from them. The next day I spent 14 hours in A&E waiting to be seen by a doctor for the severe neck and back pain I had the next morning. I got the all clear but got a persciption for strong pain killers.

Now here I am a week and a half later and my back pain has gotten to the stage where its agonising. I am just wondering would I be able to claim? I missed 1 day of work and 3 days of college aswell as deadlines for college projects which I am now behind on.

I am at fault also. The front light on my bike wasn't working and I had my earphones in although they were on the lowest volume and I could still hear all traffic around me.

    You need a solicitor.
