Upc sockets

    I have upc ports in each room. Some work. Some dont. Does anyone know how to get them working. I presume there some box someone that just needs to be connected.

    In my place they all split in the attic. Just make sure to put numbers on the cables, and write down where everything was when you started, you want to be able to put things back the way they were if you don't get it right.

    In my house they all emanate from a small box on the outside of the house, a bit like a small meter box, where both the UPC cables and the Eircom cables come in.

    Those sockets are simply noise filters they are not needed if splitting for an analog signal. They are used where a digital decoder is put in to reduce noise coming from the boxes sound.

    then if i want connect directly to old analogue tv i can do it with out upc socket and connect directly tv to cable from wall ?

    We don't drag up old threads. To be honest I would recommend anyone interfering with the UPC cabling at all. Use the sockets provided.
