trace phone calls?

    I received a very abusive phone call earlier which really freaked me out, is there any way i can trace who phoned me?!
    i dont want to go to gardai as it only happened to me this one occasion but would really like to know who did it!
    :(

    Not without making a formal complaint to the Gardai.

    Gardai have to go through your phone company so contact the phone company first if you don't want to go through gardai. There is no guarantee guards can find this person if they are using a non registered sim. Best of

    again, the gardai is your only way.
    they may not give you the persons details but they will investigate and follow up if they feel it is required.

    my own personal experience with the process is that they dont bother following up, but im sure it depends on garda to garda and case by case.
