I need to buy a small cheap car, Im out of work after 15 years being self employed and just sold my work car but didnt get much for it.
I would like to buy a Toyota Yaris but am hoping to spend around €1000 or less although I would offer about €1200 for a yaris, so Yaris might not be possible.
Whats the next best thing ?
I drove a Ford fiesta for a while years ago and didnt realy like it, lack of power ect, are newer models better ?
Nissan Micra is just too small.
Might have a look at the Mazda 323.
What about the Ford Focus ? Ive never driven one.
Nissan Almera is a bit too soft.
Not a fan of Puegots, Citroen's, Renaults ect..
Any thing else I should consider ?

    The Yaris won't be powerful
    neither would a 1.3 323

The 1.25 Fiesta is nippy enough compared to an older 1.1

Micra is actually nippy enough at low speeds as the gears are very short legged.

suppose you cant be overly fussy given the budget. A starlet 1.3 should be considered too

The reason Id prefare a Yaris is its roomy for a small car, its got Toyota reliability and my wife has one and its probably the best small car ive ever driven.
Micra is just too small for me.

    Fiesta is ugly but cheap.

You are dead right, I dont have much choice with the budget I have. Im a jap car fan and my last Toyota had 320k miles on it when I sold it today. Ill have a look at Starlets.
