Transferring from BTEA to Disability allowance

I am currently in college and receiving both Back-to-Education-Allowance and Rent Allowance. However, next year I will need to repeat some modules for my degree before progressing into my final year. However, I have been told that a person cannot keep the BTEA and Rent Allowance if they have to repeat a year in college, and I fear that I may be a year without income as jobs are next to impossible to come by, and I may need to drop out of college.

However, I was wondering if Disability Allowance is different, if it is (a) possible to change from BTEA to Disability and (b) if it is possible to keep Disability Allowance along with Rent Allowance, even if I am repeating only a few modules for my course (a condition which would make me lose BTEA for a year), or would I also not be able to claim Disability allowance for this year?

    Thank you.
