Give andrewdickenson a shout on here.

He has a cracking 8 Month old GWP dog, bought it off a lad in Waterford. I'm sure he can point you in the right direction.

best of luck with the new pup. i picked most of my tips up from watching videos etc and just my own common sense.best tip i can give is spend plenty of time with the dog on obience training and retrieving (scented retrieves if possible)then move onto working it in the field

I have a GWP bitch she's nearly six now, Just give the dog plenty of time she won't be hunting right for a couple of seasons but they do come good.

Also be very careful how you introduce to gunfire.

Early training is very important, they must learn the basics sit, stay and recall. Their early training should also include some retrieving and water work. Depending on the blood lines they can be strong willed.
They are very loyal, devoted, even-tempered and versatile gundogs.

make sure to keep it disciplined i bought a 2 year old dog. the lad i boiught it of had no control over it so i got it very cheap. got him last christmas. over the summer i made him settle a bit he is rock solid on pheasant snipe and woodcock and can retrieve in water decently.
Very good dog IF trained correctly.
