Bird of Paradise

Does any one know where I can get Birds of Paradise in the Cork area? I know they are on ebay but they are in the uk and Im not sure on the rules around bringing in plants from abroad. Im looking for about 6 plants.

Also would I have to keep them inside? I have a greenhouse but its cold in winter. I'd love to grow them successfully outside.
Has anyone managed to grow these?

I grew them outside a few years ago but the frost killed em.I think they might do ok in a green house.

I've grown them from seed in 6x6 greenhouse for many years - thy'd break your heart sometimes. I wouldn't chance them outside to be honest, especially in the Irish weather.

My dad had 2 of these for over 20 years inside the house in a South facing warm sitting room they never flowered.

disillusioned with them he threw them out!
