10m Air Rifle Intervarsities 2012

The annual Intervarsity/Colours competition was held in Wilkinstown Target Shooting Club yesterday, March 4th.

Detailed scores to follow later.

Shooting was underway from 10.30 until 20.15 so a big thanks goes out to all you helped set up the range and run the details.

The competition format is ISSF 60 shot and the score of 5 Seniors and 5 Juniors was counted from each team.

Senior competition: won by UCD with a surplus of 86 points
Junior competition: won by DURC with a surplus of 112points
Overall competition: won by DURC with a surplus of 26 points

Captain's match: won by Claire Leyden of UCD

Best Senior: Aisling Miller DURC 576
Best Junior: Emily Bowe DURC 549

Average Scores have increased impressively this year again with one competitor from each club exceeding the Olympic MQS

Sweet! And I'm not sure (you'll have to check Steven Watterson's scores) but that 576 might be a new club record for a colours score...

Can't find any records for colours but his overall record is 578 at some other competition (it's written on the sheet in the range, just can't remember what it is)

Not sure - I think the UCD record would probably either be held by John at the moment, or Nicola Murphy from back around the same time as Steven.

Her last year would have been '01 or '02. She was still shooting when I was around but she had stopped before I competed in airgun.
