    Saw on another post, date end of Feb, a reference to

    "With the new VRT law it could work a lot cheaper"

    what are the new VRT laws if any ?

    The only change I'm aware of is the discontinuation of the classification of very low mileage cars (either <6k km's or <8k km's can't remember which one) as new and the charging of both VAT on the invoice price and VRT as per the list price, following a dressing down from some European court or other.

    They referred to the post-08 change in VRT and tax, it's based on emissions since then, not engine size. Diesels are usually much cheaper to VRT than before.
