Have to stay in a hotel in limerick for a few nights.
I need somewhere central + quiet..

Both would be about the same distance from town, both are nice hotels and neither are in noisy areas so its whatever you think looks nicer or has the better price.

Ok thanks. I got a similar price in both.
    Oh decisions!

You won't go wrong with either option, both are fairly central and will be quiet

I'd choose the Clarion, realy like the place

The Absolut - Had the chance to stay there a few times and its well worth. Rooms and beds are comfy. Breakfast is nice too.

    I'd go with absolut!

This could clinch it for you.

Parking in the absolute is free in their own sealed and secure car park.

Parking in the clarion is not free and in a covered public car park.

Try Trivago to find the best comparison rate.

No idea what they're like to stay in, but in my opinion the café/bar area in the Absolute is much better.

Food is good in both. But I prefer the food in the absolut

Why do so many people think the Absolute is named after a Swedish brand of vodka?:)

Or: was it actually first named the Absolut?

having stayed in both, i'd go with the absolut, or, one i havent stayed in yet but definitely intend to try out, so worth checking out, is the savoy! :)

Clarion over Absolut .. But both are waaaaaay behind Savoy. Rooms are much bigger and more modern, best brekkie in a hotel I've had in Limerick.

+1 for Savoy,if you get a good rate. No parking, but they have a deal with the multi-storey across the road that works out very cheaply.

Ive stayed in none of these but was a member of the gym in the Clarion Hote before I was made redundant from my last job. Lovely little pool with a great view of the Shannon. If I had a choice, and I could get a room in one of the top floors, I would pick the Clarion, great view, lovely gym/pool, just beside the Shannnon river.....

The Savoy's way too dear for the dates I'm going..
I might go with the Clarion as it has the pool..
Thank to everyone for the advice..
I would have picked Absolute but the pool swayed it..

would you mind reporting back on your thoughts of your stay at the clarion when you get a chance as there was a pretty broad spectrum of opinions even going on this thread alone... :o
