    yes there are benefits ,

but those listed are vague and could have been done on MIR for a tiny fraction of the cost.

Mirs lifetime was extended way past the time it would have passed an NCT.
it had a manual resupply craft miss its docking port and hit its structure causing a loss of pressure and closure of the module it punctured.
it also had an onboard fire, again forcing the sealing of another module.
if it had been unmanned it would not have survived either accident.
its interior was so colourless its long stay crews were becoming depressed.
this was a great help into what would be required for any long term mission BEO.
it was a great craft and when finally abandoned was able to be burnt up safely through a controlled reentry.

it was a great stepping stone towards the ISS but much smaller,it was also the driver towards much of the hardware needed to build the ISS,docking ports for the shuttle etc.

Mirs costs for the most part were provided by one nation.
the ISS will no longer have easy funding from any nation.
what is so vague about the link, did you scroll down to all the partners links for all the info?
hopefully more detail will be added to what is a new section of the website.
in the meantime the ISS is the only game in town for manned spaceflight for a long long time to come.
