BMW is a much sportier drive. Firmer around corners and very responsive. C class is very light at the back and not as much fun but comfortable for a car in that class. Of course a lot depends on the BMW your thinking about. No comparison between a 320d and a 335. Best bet is to test drive them and see what you think.

Thanks i just like the look of C class, and on that price it looks nice bargain, any common problems with them or anything to watch out for?

In the mean time will keep an eye for BMW as well.BMW i am looking for 318 or 316, Max 1.8l Ta

The C Class Sports "coupe" is just Merc's poor answer to the Audi A3 and BMW 1 Series. It is a hatchback, not a coupe. A poor seller really and not Merc's finest hour.

No major issues with a 04 C class. I've had 2 and loved both of them. I'm biased though as i'm a BMW convert. Did it the wrong way round

    2 C180's an E240 and now a 535D. God knows what i'll be driving when i'm 60.

It is what it is though and you're paying a premium for a brand when you could get something far better and with lower mileage for the same money. Personally I would be looking at a non felt spec 318 instead.

Nice, Do you think it will be easy enough to access baby seat on back? as might have to put baby seat for friend visiting, Looking on 318 too.

+1 the biggest problem with the Merc will be getting rid of it.

I'm not sure. Never had a coupe.

Pretty awkward depending on baby age and front or rear facing seat. A rear facing seat with seatbelt fixings is extremely difficult to access. You will likey have to get in the other side to place baby in to the seat.

Front facing seat, not so bad as long as you have a good back.

    I'm a bit of a BMW fanboy but you're wasting your time with a 316i BMW. The 318i is a 2L with 140bhp too.

I think the C180 kompressor is a supercharged 1.8 with about 180bhp but I don't think I'd go for the Coupe.

Not much difference in 1.8 and 2L tax etc as far as I know, would you go for the c180 saloon? If not what about a 320d? It'd be better than a 318i anyway.

Anyone see the new C-Class Coupe - looks sweet. I definitely take one over the 3 series coupe

I'm a big fan of the look of the new C class, but one of those or an E92.. that would be a difficult decision. A nice decision to have to make though :)

The new C-Class coupe is a whole new car, think they got it right this time, saw one outside Grange Motors the other day. The older model was the front half of a C180 saloon with what looked like the arse of a Mazda 323 bolted on to it, a truly horrible car, not surprised they sold very few.

opening up an old thread. but is this particular car a car that girls would buy more so than lads ?

They do seem to be the choice of women drivers, (the old one that is), but it doesn't matter, because they were crap.
The new C-Class coupe is a decent car though, and very nice looking. A proper alternative to the E92.

You still haven't bought a car yet have you? I'd say it will be late 2014 before you actually do!

Does it matter if it's a girls car/lads car? Regardless out of the two I'd have the BMW..

Well, I was just making an observation, I wudnt as a lad like to buy a car that was kinda seen as a girls car.
