anyone any idea if this will fit a focus (currently have the 6000 ford cd/radio and they're bigger than standard car stereos) - saw it in store and looks about the right dimensions

    thanks

Thats a single din radio the radio in the focus is a double din, if you put the single din in its place there will be a gap so you could get a front fascia to cover the gap a fairly easy and straight forward thing to do

Are these the same as the ones they've had in the past, and if so are they any good?

EDIT: Also, do they have standard ISO connections?

They're a bit nastier looking than the usual lidl aldi type ones.

The focus isnt quite 2 din, the facia adaptor you get is about half the height of DIN, those radios come with standard type ISO plugs alright.

IMO it'd look awful in a focus,

I've had an Aldi one installed for the last 2-3 years and love it. Bluetooth for playing your MP3s on internet radio or phonecalls.

Only flaws for me were the button sizes. Way too small compared to my old OEM xantia unit. Too many buttons instead of options per button. And then (for me) all the wrong settings on the remote control. As the driver, I want to be able to access the hard to get settings via remote, not the volume. I understand that may be an unfair complaint in that they'd be universal flaws if so.

Also, the fade function seemed to disappear occasionally from my options. For weeks at a time. Or else I'd hidden it inadvertently.

This is the 2009 one I got referred to in this Maplins thread: - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055014867 Also here http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=67143

I think you need to hold the volume down to get further options, fader, balance, dsp mode etc.

    There 1.75 din.

They do look cheap and nasty though, saying that I have one and have had no trouble with it.

That one really doesn't look pretty. I have one from Aldi for about 2 years and its great, not as fugly as the most recent incarnation though!

Well, when you drive a car of that pedigree, you have to splash the cash :D

Was in the warehouse sale in Limerick about 18 months ago. the original Toyota one had a loose plug or something which meant the sound would keep coming and going. i wedged bits of paper etc, into the plug but nothing would permanently fix it.

I had the €29 saved up, so I just went for it.
