Any body insured with this crowd. Don't have to option of putting the bike under house insurance so I need to look into one of these type companies to insure it. Seems reasonable enough prices and an irish company as well. 77 euro for annual insurance for a bike costing 1100, including theft and accidental damage. Club cycle insurance, family use, personal accident and competition use come extra but would not apply to me at the moment.

Seems reasonable enough and I haven't come across any other companies yet that specialise in cycle insurance.

    Any taught's?

any body with any experience with having to claim from one of these companies for theft or accidental damage? The excess on the theft with cyclesure is 25 euro and they cover the rest, and the excess on accidental damage is 125 euro and the rest is on their head. I wonder if it's similar to the car insurance scam, where when you do need to claim, the value of the payout is half of what you expected, or if there is any hidden clause within their policies??

This is usually the case with insurance companies right across the board in my experience......

I had bike insurance with Cyclesure.ie for the first time last year after purchasing a new Felt. I came off the bike during with Wicklow 200 and basically damaged the carbon frame - thankfully I was grand.

I contacted Shane in Cyclesure.ie to make the claim and after I submitted the various paperwork, the insurance company paid up the full amount insured less the excess of €25. I really couldn't fault them and I would happily recommend them.

That said, no harm to shop around.

Yeah, two Irish blokes, but they are underwritten by a UK co., Butterworth Spengler.

I googled them a bit last week and couldn't find anything good or bad about them.

I'm insured with them for racing & training. There's a 10% discount for Orwell members. Not sure if they do similar for other clubs. Haven't had to claim and hope to keep it that way :)

Is this instead of a Cycling Ireland licence, would it do for club league racing?
