In Dunnes Stores in Stephens Green, rather oddly placed in the menswear section, is some AA De-icing salt (possibly this, but I am not sure), was €15, now €1. I didn't take any, as it rather heavy to carry on the LUAS, but other Dunnes branches might have this also.

Everybody will be hit as they all stocked up after the horrible weather forecasts that the Met office put out.
The big shops can take the hit but loads of smaller shops bought in trying to make a quick buck and they are going to suffer.

Some cold weather on the way from this weekend, check the weather forum,we might even see some of the white stuff. The salt could come in handy yet.

the white stuff could be where someone spilled salt carrying it to the luas :)

Should see lots of bargains like this in the next few weeks.

The salt market is falling faster than the property market!

The snow-shovel market is another casualty.

It must be reaching its best before date if they're flogging it for a Quid! :D

I put salt down on my drive (just enough width for someone to walk on) a few times during the worst of Jan 11. That spring, I could see a definite marking and cracking of the concrete in it along that pathway - Salt + Water = bad for concrete, folks.

A snow shovel, yard brush and some elbow grease for me from now on.
