Is this an Olympic sport in which Ireland might win gold?

Sadly, Ireland has never done particularly well in the Olympics, but now a famous New Zealand rugby player has proposed that a new discipline - sheep shearing - be given Olympic status. If his proposal is accepted, might Ireland have a chance of winning a medal or two? After all, we have plenty of sheep and no lack of opportunities to practise shearing them.
I bet we'd do great if sheep shagging was an Olympic sport, but that probably won't happen any time soon.
    ;);)
IT is like a cross between a woolly wrestling match and a trip to the hair salon. But now All Blacks rugby legend Sir Brian Lochore has backed calls for sheep shearing to be recognised at the Olympics as an official sport. Sir Brian’s comments came as Scottish competitor Gavin Mutch was ranked among the 12 semi finalists at the prestigious Golden Shears World Sheep Shearing Competition in Masterton, New Zealand.

Synchronised begrudgery becoming an Olympic sport would mean Ireland getting the gold, silver and bronze.

International sheep shearing would be like the Rugby.

Australia and NZ would dominate with Eng/Sco/Ire/Wales winning sometimes.

I think we could get a couple of golds in the doping relays.

I believe it has to be an actual sport or game to be allowed to be given Olympic status. Clue is in the event title -- Olympic GAMES.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    'Game' doesn't necessarily mean 'sport'.

Tug-of-war was an event for God's sake. Not a sport - a game, if you ask me!

    Anyway, Summer Olympics - Yawn.

The Olympic council of Ireland & the participants would argue over which brand of wool they would wear for the event

Horse Racing should be an Olympic Sport,we would surely get a medal in that with all the great trainers, jockeys and horses that we have

If not that then talking about he weather is another gold medal in the pocket for Ireland
