"On March 2nd DCUfm will host the first ALL IRELAND STUDENT RADIO TAKEOVER. The idea is simple, loads of college radio stations from around the country come to DCU and together broadcast an uber schedule of student music, discussion, news and ultimate craic! A handful of student radio stations are on board already and this is going to be a great event.

All participants will be broken up into teams with at least a member from each student radio station on each team and given a time to broadcast. The teams will plan their show and broadcast together from the DCUfm studio situated in the Hub. Along with the stream being available on our iPhone App and on dcufm.com , the plan is for all the other stations to relay the stream on their platforms.

This gives student radio in Ireland one of the biggest potential audiences EVER. Its going to be a great event and we hope to get loads of exposure. If you have any ideas or can help us out with this one email russel@dcufm.com with AISRTO in the subject line."

    Anyone listening in today?

As you didn't mention the frequency and it's not obvious from the website you pointed to, the answer is 'NO'. Neither can I find it as a temporary radio licence on the BAI website.

Did I get this wrong - is it being broadcast over the ether via FM or am I making a stupid assumption? They're using 'fm' in the website address and you've posted this in the 'radio' forum so forgive me if I jumped to the wrong conclusion.

Broadcasting on all of the stations' Internet streams not on FM. All six stations are using the same stream for this event.

Radio, as in, internet radio. All the stations that took part have IMRO licences as streaming internet stations, except for Flirt FM which broadcasts on an FM frequency (103.? I believe) in Galway.

Radio is a changing medium! :) DCU FM have broadcast on FM in the past.

Was the programming available in Galway, Limerick or Cork on the college stations there?

Yes! Every station involved was broadcasting the same stream! You can listen back all this week on http://ulfm.ie from 11pm-7am each day or you can listen back this weekend during the day but the times haven't been finalized (probably from 11am to 7pm though).
