couple of questions regarding SSD

    Frirst thing i have a DELL XPS 15 L501x

    Currently I have an OCZ agility 3 running win 7 home premium x64 and the original Samsung HDD conneccted to where the DVD drive was for storage

    the first question i have is in the bios there is an option for ATA mode (which is currently set) or AHCI mode.

    I've tried to set it as ACHI mode but it doesn't boot it just black screens.

    is there any benefit of having the SSD running in AHCI mode rather than ATA mode and how can I do this if there is? would it involve reinstalling windows.

    my second question is the sata controller in the laptop is SATA 2. Could I get a SATA 3 PCI-E controller to work and would it allow my drive to work faster without the bottleneck of SATA 2? i have a PCI-E 2.0 x1 slot that's not populated
