I was just wondering if it is legal for somebody under the age of 18 to travel on a train with airsoft guns and gear taking into account that the airsoft guns could be in a gun bag or just a sports/gear bag?

    Thanks

Be it a train, bus, your own car or walking down the street..... keep your AEG out of public view at all times. Buy a proper gun bag or case as they are relatively cheap. Dont leave it out of your sight at any stage and make sure to lock it closed with a small travel lock.

Dont transport it in anything other than a gun bag as should it become visible in some way being in a sports bag it could be viewed as malicious intent.

Carry your gear in a proper gun bag, unloaded with magazines and batteries packed separately etc.

I had a brief read on Irish Rail's website, and couldn't see anything on RIF's being a restricted carry item, which means you are just subject to regular Irish law i.e. it must remain outside of public sight.

If you are stopped by staff, talk to them and offer them as much information as needed. They will be testing your answers to see if you are a responsible individual, or whether you are a toe rag. Be polite, and most importantly non-confrontational...more flies with honey and all that
