Some shock alright. Sonny Boy Jaro's last three fights were against guys with records of 7-8-1, 17-25-1, and 14-16-2. And then he goes and knocks out the undisputed world champ and one of the top ten (ring rated) fighters on the planet. Amazing stuff.

Very padded record by the Thai fella, though it's a massive upset.

Have to say despite his age I really didn't see that one coming.

In relation to "padded record" a lot of Thais keep very busy and have numerous non-title fights between defences. It just keeps them sharp. That's the way it used to be in the so-called 'good old days' in the West.

Wonjongkam was an extremely good fighter and will be highly rated by those that know the lower weights.

Still they're opponents of a lesser quality. Beating overwhelmed rookies with only a solitary loss under their belt, and clocking up the W's rare does much to keep you sharp.

Some amount of cans since he got back the title

Well obviously they're of lesser quality, otherwise they'd be fighting for titles!!
    That's why they're "non-title".

I will admit though there were some disgraceful mismatches in there all right.

It still doesn't take away from the fact that he was an extremely good fighter.

Agreed, doesn't take away the fact he's a class act. Holding a flyweight title at his age was some achievement in itself, dunno where he goes from here though
