ACCA F7 & F8 Variants - clear as Mud

    Hi

This is about my 3rd time trying to establish what study text I need to get for ACCA exams F7 & F8.

I am working in practice and have been advised to sit the IRL variant of both.

Now, here is where it gets confusing.

The Irish distance learning providers (BPP, Kaplan) etc suggest getting the F7 INT study text.
    ACCA website says this
Paper F7 (IRL) Financial Reporting and Paper P2 (IRL) Corporate Reporting
These papers will be adapted to incorporate differences between legislation, taxation and accounting practice in the UK and in the Republic of Ireland. F7 has no material differences between the UK and Ireland stream.

Then in another part of the ACCA website it says :
If you are sitting Paper F4 (IRL) Corporate and Business Law, Paper F7 (IRL) Financial Reporting, Paper F8 (IRL) Audit and Assurance, Paper P2 (IRL) Corporate Reporting or Paper P7 (IRL) Advanced Audit and Assurance, you should note that the following additional legislation is examinable: Companies Act 1963, Companies (Amendment) Act 1982, Companies (Amendment) Act 1983, Companies (Amendment) Act 1986 etc etc

SO - do I order the UK book or the INT book and WHERE do I get the IRISH notes from? I am doing this by distance learning and going to classes not an option.

Getting really frustrated about this. Have already sat 1 exam where part of course left out of the study text I was told to get and do not want another FUBAR situation.

    THANKS for any help :)

The international Kaplan books for F7 and F8 include the UK syllabus which is almost the same as the Irish one, you should follow this. The only other material assumed for the Ire paper is a basic knowledge of the Companies Act, this is readily available online.

    Didn't I answer this previously?
