I have seen mention of Canyons stems being non standard sizes - I presume this is at the steerer end? Can replacements only be sourced from Canyon?

    Thanks,

I read on weightweenies that later on in year the 1 1/4 size will be available for normal purchase from any ritchey retailer, since felt and giant are going that way

Canyon will swap out the stem to another size when you place your order, they swapped one for me a couple of weeks later, think I had to pay for postage but it was nothing major.

Good news if true. Although Canyon do swap them out it's a pain. Chainreaction used to sell this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=42437 which I got last year, I did see mention somewhere of a non ritchey stem causing problems but I got confirmation from Canyon that they see no problem using an after market stem...

If you have a 100mm stem then I may be interested depending on condition and price. I'm looking for a 6 degree one, which is perhaps all that Canyon sell/supply anyway.

Canyon also sell 17 degree ritchey stems. As far as I know they have these ones made specially so I don't think you can get them anywhere else.

I have a 6 degree 80mm ritchey stem that I want to get rid of if anyone's looking for one btw.
