Hi, I'm doing a research report on the impact of the college on Maynooth business between the years [insert time period]. Does anyone know what places I can go for some historical information about the town and the college? And in what time period would be best to do the topic on? (must be before 1992)

    thanks in advance

Would there be stuff in the town library down the street? You may be able to get access to some of the stuff in the college library as it's for a project, go into them and ask. It's open until 10pm and on Saturdays too. Your teacher (I assume you are in secondary school :P) should be able to give you some ideas too.

Maybe you could look at the town a few centuries apart? e.g. how it was in 1800 and how it was in 2000 or something. I don't know if that would be outside the scale of your project though (I didn't do history for LC, even though I'm studying it at college :pac:)

http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=107 This is the Leaving Cert forum.

    Books relating to Maynooth College:

    P.J. Corish, Maynooth College 1795-1995
    J. Newman, Maynooth and Georgian Ireland
    J. Newman, Maynooth and Victorian Ireland

    I hope that helps.
