I recently received a cheque for over 600 pounds sterling. Would I be right in saying that if I simply lodge this into Irish bank account that I'll have to accept what is more than likely going to be a crappy exchange rate? What should I do with the cheque to insure I get the maximum return for it?

For the amount your not going to get a better rate than advertised in your branch.
