I recently transferred to a club in cork i would like to transfer back to my home club in kilkenny. If i play any league games for the cork club can i still transfer back in a month or two and play championship in kilkenny?

Hi, I recently transferred myself so I know a small bit about it. This is a bit of a tricky question though. One rule that is important is that you cannot play championship for 2 different clubs in one year. Eg if I played a championship match for my club, and wanted to transfer the day after, I wouldn't be allowed. I would have to wait till next year. If you want my opinion, I wouldn't play for your Cork Club if you wanted To transfer. If you are 100 percent transferring back to your home club, I wouldn't risk playing for cork club as there are all sorts of technicalities that you could be caught with. If my answer didn't help you, try going to Gaa.ie and click on "Clubzone" and then "Transfers and Sanctions. You should find some answers there.

What club in Cork is it if you don't mind me asking?

According to the official guide, you cannot play championship with two clubs in the same county or different counties in the same year. You should be okay playing in the league with your Cork club, but just make sure the league has no impact on the championship grading.

Official guide states "A Player who Transfers to another Club in a different County, and has already played in a Championship in that given year with his former Club, may play with his new Club in Non-Championship Competition(s)" - that would seem to me that if you do not play championship in Cork, you should be free to play championship in Kilkenny.

I'd rather not say which clubs are involved. it seems to me that as i have played a league match in Cork I would be clear to play championship in Kilkenny.
