MacBook Air battery care

I'm wondering what the best approach is to maximizing the longevity of my battery of my new MacBook Air.

I believe leaving it constantly plugged in is a bad idea. Would the best approach be to charge it to 100% and then use the laptop on battery power only until it discharges almost completely?

There seems to be a lot of contrasting opinions online.

Leaving it plugged in all the time isn't good. It needs to get some usage, but at the same time you shouldn't be discharging it completely every time. Overall, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just use it normally and charge it when you get a chance. Do a complete discharge once a month.

Always keep mine plugged in 90% of the time and it's served me well so far. A discharge maybe once a month.

I generally have to charge my Macbook (4.5 years old) twice a day. I usually charge it and let it drain to about 10% in the library and start charging again. Even when charged it tends to zip through the battery pretty quickly - all I'd have open is Word, Adobe Reader and TextEdit. No internet or videos. Like the OP, I was unsure of the consensus on the internet.
