Hold down the power button until it click off and then try turning it on again

Might be a display issue so you see nothing onscreen

    Also try reseating the battery

Does a little white line flash continuously in the top left corner?

Can you hook it up to an external monitor to see if anything comes up? If it does there is a screen issue.

With the laptop on and not plugged into a monitor, look at the screen very closely (you can also shine a light on it) and see if you can see anything at all. If it's a very, very dim screen the inverter or backlight has blown.

If it's neither of those, trying taking out a stick of RAM (assuming you have more than one) and try boot. If a stick is faulty it can stop the system from booting.

Failing that most likely it's a motherboard problem. At that point you'd be better off with a new laptop.

Sure try a few of the following and see what happens

When you turn it on does it seem to be working other than the fan, can you see the hard drive light blinking now and again? Does the Wifi light or the CAP lock light come on after a few minutes of starting?

Do you have a windows installation CD? stick it in, see what happens

    or

Did you ever make back up disks, If so stick the first one in and see what happens, however, if you first boot device is not the CD/DVD it makes no difference,

Do you have a HDMI cable so you can test the display on a TV, use an F function key to send signal to TV

Anyways, let it charge up fully to try these or anything else.

Some times you have to discharge the motherboard and all the chips on it. This is done by removing battery and charger and leaving it for a considerable time like 12 - 24 hours, its extremely rare that it would be this, but possible.

First thing I always do with a laptop that won't boot up correctly is an "ATX reset".

Take out the battery and unplug it from power. Hold down power button for 30 seconds. Plug the power lead back into the laptop without the battery and try to power it up. It doesn't always work, but sometimes it does.
