too late for 2012 mature/cao course ?

    if a course is on the cao list, and you haven't applied to cao for anything yet, does that mean the earliest course you could do is in sept 2013.

    Not entirely. I don't know if it's too late to submit a CAO? (check the website), but some colleges accept applications outside of the CAO, such as National College of Ireland (NCI) based in the IFSC accept applications via application form only for mature students (and not via CAO), some others might be similar, but you'll have to do your research, and I think Trinity might do something similar. UCD are CAO only and you may be required to sit an entrance exam also.

    Best bet is to contact all the admissions office by phone. (don't email as you may be waiting a while, and you would need to move ASAP for the best chance of getting applications accepted).
