restraining bar any good for castrating cattle

    hello all,
    anybody use a restraining bar while castrating cattle?

    If we have a very wild lad we usually tie one leg (as well as someone holding the tail).


    Also anybody buy one of these and how did ye find it?:

    I can't see how that yoke would be any good. Sure it's just the same as sticking a pole in behind. If the let fly it swing up and you'd be swallowing your teeth.

    If money was no object, this is what you'd want. Only looking at them today.

    A handy lad could design something along the same principles to fit a standard chute for ya.

    The leg is restrained high up both back and front so minimal chance of the animal or yourself getting hurt

    the best and the safest method i have found when castrating bulls is get someone else to do them ;);)
