insurance for a day

    Can you be a named driver for a day with Zurich.
    And how quickly can you arrange it.
    I kind of need it today.
    My sister is unwell and I was gonna driver her home from Dublin using her car
    I have a full license

    Just ring them :) nobody can tell you for certain here.

    I would expect that if would be cheaper just to be added for the rest of the year.

    If you have your own policy (in your own name - not you as a named driver on someone elses policy) you may have driving other cars under your policy.

    This would entitle you to drive any car which is not owned by you i.e. your sisters, with third party only cover.

    Effectively you would be insured for legal liability if you crash but not for any damage you would do to your sister's car.

    Alternatively your sister needs to call Zurich and get you added, shouldn't be an issue and charge will probably be small enough, maybe they'll even do it free so long as you have a full, clean licence etc.

    Your sister will have to name you on her policy so (assuming she doesn't already have open driving that covers you).
