    Hi,
I've been on jobseekers benefit for nearly a year. A month ago I got a form to fill out to change over to allowance, i filled it out and dropped it into welfare straight away (handed it straight into reception in a clearly marked envelope).
I've now just gotten the exact same form again.
Does this they've lost my application? Is there anyway I can check on the status of my change over?
I'm very nervous about this as I have rent to pay and bills and I'm afraid I'll go down to the post office next week and be told I've no payment.

Phone your local office, if they won't answer the phone, call in to them and see. It may be that the form has been sent out to you again in error, but you never know. Wouldn't hurt just to fill in the form and send it in again. Better them having it twice than not at all!

It can take a while to make the transition, even if you have the forms completed in time. If they haven't confirmed that you are eligible for Jobseekers Allowance in time, then go down to your Community Welfare Officer and apply for Supplementary Welfare Allowance to keep you going until it is.

SWA is paid at a rate 2 Euro less than JObseekers, although the usual disergards don't apply so if you have any income from employment or from a spouse working, then you may not qualify. If you have no other income, then you shouldn't have a problem getting SWA until the decision is made.

In same suitation so just a quick question. Are you waiting long and is it true that you have to be called for an interview and that there is a big backlog in that area? That is what i was told. Oh as far as your local social welfare officer dont bank on getting much from him as i know from experience if anything like mine. Dreading going down that road again.
